Inshore Fishing
Cocodrie / DuLarge in South Central Louisiana
Another Dularge Trout Slam 7.30.12 Late report from Friday 7/30, Had a great time on the DU with old time friend and co worker Kary Monnier with G.E. Wireline services and Cary Vice with Petro Hunt. The guys wanted a quick trout trip offshore and everything just fell into place. We ran to the Tracy Macy in Callou Boca and loaded up with live Croakers and Live Shrimp. We headed west for coon point but the water was dirty so we continued on to the west and hit the platforms and found what we were looking for. We started fishing live shrimp on a 3/4 oz carolina rig and the trout were coming in every cast for my crew. After a couple hours the 150 live shrimp were running low and the bite was still going strong. When the shrimp was going we couldn't get another bite even with live croakers. The crew said we have 62 trout just 13 short of a 3 man limit, so let's head in. Back at the dock at 10, fish and boat cleaned by noon! Gotta love Dularge.

Dularge When fishing the ship shoal rigs out of Dularge the west wind blows dirty river water from the atchafalaya river anytime you have a west wind for a couple days. Plus the 20 knot winds and 3' seas didn't help either.Lol

why Hey captain! Why is the water so dirty right now. I mean I was down there a few days ago and the water wasn't muddy but normal I guess. With the low winds and the low river I thought the water would have been clearer but it was what I call normal. Bad wind direction I am guessing???
