Offshore Fishing
Fourchon / Grand Isle in Southeast Louisiana
Amazing offshore day Yesterday's trip couldn't have been any better. Me blackbear and my buddy Phillip Laid the hammer down today. Started the morning watching fourchon get hammered by rain while catching mangroves and when the bite shut down we made another move and caught our limit of red snapper. Made our next move and Phillip caught a red snapper which was thrown back but in the process of throwing it back a huge cobia tried eating it. Blackbear dropped a live croaker down and instantly hooked up with it. When that fish came up another one that looked like its twin followed it so I dropped a jig down and bam! Double hookup! The smallest one we weighed was 47.8lbs. We made a couple more moves landing another monster cobia and a bunch more mangroves and a bonus king. We ended the day with 19 mangroves our limit of red snapper 3 cobia a king and all was done out of a 22ft bay boat.
